Shmetrix Privacy Policy

Shmetrix (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a puzzle game published by Ubotika. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. We keep it minimal: the app shows no ads and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Information we collect

• Display name — a nickname you type to appear on the leaderboard. You choose it; it does not need to be your real name.
• Anonymous account ID — an anonymous identifier created by Firebase Authentication so your scores can be attributed to you. It is not linked to your email, phone, or real identity.
• Game scores and stats — your scores, level, lines, and Shmetrix count, used for the global leaderboard.
• On-device data — your high score and settings are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us.

How we use it

• To run core gameplay (saving progress, high scores).
• To display the global leaderboard and show top players’ names on pieces.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to track you across other services.

Third-party services

The app uses Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) to store leaderboard data. Google processes this data as our service provider. See the Firebase Privacy and Google Privacy Policy.

Data retention & deletion

Leaderboard entries are kept until you ask us to remove them. To request deletion of your display name and scores, email us (below) and we will remove them. Uninstalling the app deletes the on-device data.

Children

Shmetrix is suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the optional nickname they choose to enter.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
